This miniature species was first found in Panama at around 1922.
In 2010 I found this species on a big fallen tree on Cerro Arbolado – Costa Rica at about 2600 meters. This was probably the first time this species was found in Costa Rica. Just a few weeks later Daniel Jimenez found this species on Cerro Pando close to Panama.

This species is very small. The flowers is about 2 mm in size. The leafs 9-10 mm. The flowers flower just for some days. It grows in very humid conditions.

I grow this species at Min temp +10-12°C to Max temp around +19°C in winter time. Good light and lots of humidity! I really prefers togrow very wet.

Sweet little Lockhartia species that originates from Central America. Hard to grow and specielly to get to flower. It grows in the deep shadow low down on trees in the cloudforest. Altitude at around 1000-1500 meters.

I grow it in low light and a lot of humidity. But most important it needs a lot of airmovement. The flower is just around 8mm in size.

Little is known about this Dracula species. It is said to originate from Peru but it has never been found there. The description of this species comes from a plant in England. That plant is supposed to come from Peru. Hope to get more info one day.

I grow it cool. Min temp +11°C to max Temp +19°C. Lots of humidity. The flowers need high humidity to open up. In my vivaria I grow it in semishade.

This Dichaea sp grows only in Costa Rica. It grows in very wet forests at altitudes at 500-2000 meters. It neeed a lot of humidity to grow. The flower doesent last long at all.

Grows in Costa Rica in very humid forests. I saw this Stelis species in the mountains between Tapanti and Cachi. The were growing low on small trees. The were exposed to wind and very humid air.

In my vivaria I grow this species on Xaxim. Lot´s of air movement and fog straight at the plant. I need a lot of fog to open it´s flowers.

This s a rare Masdevallia that grows in the Santander state in Colombia. It grows at about 2400 meters.

I grow this orchid close to the light. It didn´t flower for a while but when it got close to the light it flowered. It also want cool nights and lot´s of humidity. Min temp in autumn/winter is +10-12°C and maximum at +19-20°C. The flower is about 4 cm.

When me and Daniel went to the mountains west of Buenos Aires – Punta arenas in Costa Rica we found a plant of this rare Telipogon. It was growing at around 2500 meters at a ridge that was exposed to winds and mist.

It was growing 2-3 meters up in a tree. The flowers are 3-4 cm in size.

Grows on Cerro de la Muerte – Costa Rica. Flower size 4-5 millimeters. When I was in Costa Rica I saw a lot of this species in old oakforests at 2700-2900 meters. Often growing close to ground at very mossy branches.
