Hofmeisterella eumicroscopica

January 10, 2010

Hofmeisterella eumicroscopica is a rare species and very hard to grow and to flower.

Hofmeisterella eumicroscopica. Rchb.f 1852.

This species grows in cloud forests often exposed on this branches at an altitude of 1500 – 2500 meters. Grows in Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and  Venezuela.

I grow these species mounted. Lot´s of humidity, good air movement. Min temp (Winter) +10°C to +12°C. Max temp (Winter) +18°C to +20°C.

One of my plants have a long (for this plant) stalk and I hope it will flower in a month or so. You can see here how the stalk is growing well. These species are very hard to grow and a flower would make me VERY happy!

The same plant one and a halph month later.
